Den som tror på mytologin, menar att tuppen symboliserar mod, stolthet och ärlighet. Attribut som definitivt krävs för att öppna sitt hem, kök och vinkällare. En annan tänker säkert på det gamla bondesamhället, där fjäderfän stod för lantlivet och ett hemtrevligt värdskap.
Runt Medelhavet används tuppen som kulinariskt märke, till exempel den legendariska svarta tuppen, som i en av världens äldsta vinområde Chianti Classico syns som garantisigill på varje flaska. Och börjar inte de mest oförglömliga kvällarna med en tuppsvans, alltså en cocktail?
Sist men inte minst, visar väderhanen på vårt tegeltak cyklisterna på Kattegattleden om de har medvind till Torekov.
Allt detta gjorde att vi har valde en tupp för att representera ett Nordiskt lantliv med känslan från Medelhavet, där vin och mat spelar en lika självklart roll som ett personligt och äkta värdskap.

The stars we have chosen from the Swedish Islander are the serious single malt Tycho Brahe, Hvenus made with island-grown rye for our Øresund Negroni, and the blended whisky Old Hare, one of Michael’s personal favorites that he recommends sipping while relaxing in a hammock on our hare hillock, where you might even spot a rabbit in the open fields.
In our opinion, Southern France stands out for its versatility, value, and freshness. We fully trust the Perrin family, a member of the exclusive Primum Familiae Vini. The twelve wine-making families represent excellence in the world of wine, combined with sustainability, family continuity, and innovation. In 1970 Jean-Pierre Perrin followed his own ideas and named a new generation of easy-drinking wines La Vieille Ferme (“the old farm” in French) and chose the emblem of a rooster and hen. Today, this rural identity makes it the perfect wine to serve in our centuries-old Countryhouse.
